Forklift Safety
Safety is freedom from unacceptable risk of physical injury or damage to the health of people due to damage of property or the environment. Safety is lived out through a combination of functional safety and proper equipment maintenance.
Every forklift truck is designed and built for optimal operator and pedestrian safety.
There are many aspects that affect lift truck safety including:
-
Proper equipment maintenance
-
Pre-Operational Inspection
-
Fork Inspections
Our goal here is to give you an overview of lift truck safety and how we may be able to help you meet your goals for safety and productivity.
Lift Truck Maintenance and Safety
Proper maintenance starts with the daily checks of the forklift as well as other elements which are required for a safe operating environment. Examples of other important items to check are wheel chocks, trailer locks and dock plates, adequate lighting, and travel lane markings for trucks and pedestrians.
These daily checks or lift truck pre-operation inspections is a requirement. Are your operators completing these inspections prior to starting each shift? If not, you are not in compliance with this very specific regulation.
Operational Maintenance or Full Service Maintenance
An Operational Maintenance or Full Service Maintenance program ensures each of your lift trucks receives timely thorough inspections. In addition to ensuring uptime and productivity, these inspections and service maintenance will also give you assurance that you are operating safely.
Fleet Management
Focusing on core business...improving operational efficiency...eliminating repair and maintenance worries... saving money.
Those are just some of the reasons that some of the world's largest and most demanding manufacturing, distribution and logistics companies outsource their fleet operations.
Few things can seem less clear than your materials handling picture. Purchase price, financing, repairs, downtime, maintenance, operator training, administration, retiring aging equipment - and much more - contribute to a complex, ever-changing and potentially profit-draining operation. Forklift Services Management can help bring it all into focus.
Are you ready to turn your materials handling operations over to a pro?
